Dhaka – A young man tried to commit suicide after hacking his mother to death over a family feud in Charkhalifa union of Daultkhan upazila in Bhola on Friday.The deceased was identified as Bakul Begum, 50, wife of late Abdul Kuddus of Mridharhat in Charkhalifa union.Locals said Bakul’s son Rezaul, 28, had been pushing her to sell their ancestral land but Bakul disagreed.
On Friday evening, an argument erupted between the mother and son over the matter during which at one stage Rezaul hacked his mother to death and injured himself with a knife.
Officer-in-Charge of Daulatdia Police Station Enayet Hossain said the body was sent to Bhola General Hospital for autopsy.Victim’s daughter filed a case with Daulatdia Police Station in this regard.UNB
