Country lacks rule of law: BNP

Jan 8: Opposition BNP Standing Committee Member MK Anwar said rule of law has been halted in the country due to the verdict of former Justice ABM Khairul Haque over the issue of caretaker government.

The senior leader of the party also claimed that the democracy, justice and right to voting were also halted due to the verdict.
He came up with such observation while addressing a programme at capital’s Press Club.
MK Anwar added: “The criminals are being nowadays freed which proves that there is no rule of law in the country.”
Protesting the killing of journalists across the country, he said some 17 journalists were killed in last four years during the incumbent government.
