1 killed in Bagerhat clash

A man was killed and 10 others injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over a trifling matter at Goshgati village in Mollahat upazila on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Anisur Raman Mollah, 35, son of Mohammad Ali Mollah of Natun Goshgati village.
ANM Khairul Anam, officer-in-charge of Mollahat Police Station, said the Sheikh family and Mollah family of the village had been at loggerheads over establishing supremacy in the village.
The clash ensued when some children, belonging to the two families, picked up a quarrel over getting on a boat for a trip in the morning.
As a sequel to that, two groups of the families, one led by Anisur Rahman Mollah and another led by Jahangir, equipped with lethal weapons, attacked each other, leaving 11 people injured.
The injured were rushed to Mollahat Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared Anisur dead. -UNB, Bagerhat
