10 Biman technical-glitch accused officials get bail

Dhaka, 11 Dec – The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CNN) Court of Dhaka on Monday granted bail to ten officials of Biman Bangladesh Airlines in a case filed over the technical glitch in Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s flight.Metropolitan Magistrate Kaisarul Islam granted the bail to Chief Engineer (Maintenance) Billal Hossain. Besides, Magistrate Subrata Ghosh Shubho granted bail to nine other accused of the case.
The Biman employees are- SM Rokonuzzaman, Samiul Haque, Lutfor Rahman, Milon Chandra Biswas, Zakir Hossain and Siddiqur Rahman of Biman’s engineering and technical department, Debesh Chowdhury, Chief Engineer (Production), SM Siddique, Chief Engineer (Quality Assurance), Billal Hossain and Shah Alam, Engineer (Technician).
Earlier, another accused Najmul Haq got bail from the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.
On December 7, Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Assistant Commissioner and also the investigation officer of the case, Mahbubul Alam, submitted the report to the CMM Court of Dhaka.
On 27 November, last year, a Bangladesh Biman flight carrying Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to Budapest had to go for an emergency landing at an airport in Turkmenistan due to the reported technical glitch. – Special Correspondent
