10,000 ppl sings National Anthem at Suhrawardy Udyan

Tens of thousands of people on Wednesday sung Bangladesh’s national anthem ‘Amar Sonar Bangla, Ami Tomay Bhalobashi’ (My Bengal of Gold, I love you) at the Suhrawardy Udyan where the Bangalees’ charter of freedom was written 44 years ago.At 4:31pm, people starting from Suhrawardy Udyan to Dhaka University’s TSC intersection stood up and joined singing the anthem in unison at the ‘Bijoy 2015’ celebration at the historic park.
The anthem was also sung at other places across the country at the same time.
Then the oath to boycott all war criminals and their collaborators was administered by noted economist Abul Barakat.
Bijoy 2015 Udjapan Jatiya Committee, Sector Commanders’ Forum, Muktijuddher Chetona Bastabayan Committee and Ganajagaran Mancha co-organised the Victory Day celebrations this year.
While speaking on the occasion, Professor Zafar Iqbal said, ‘For 44 years, we have been demanding trial of those who betrayed the country during the Liberation War and committed crimes against humanity. Now their trial process has begun and the four of the verdicts had been carried out.’
Imran H Sarker said that the verdict has fulfilled the expectations of the nation and the nation had got rid of another disgrace.
“There will be no place for communal forces including Jamaat-e-Islami in our plans to build the new Bangladesh.
At the evening a concert was held where different bands of the country performed including Shironamheen.
Earlier in the morning , ‘Bijoy 2015’ was inaugurated at the Suhrawardy Udyan with the rendition of the national anthem.
Meanwhile Bangladesh Chattra League BCL organized a concert at the DU Malchattor premises. Famous bands of the country performed there including James to celebrate the Victory day.
