10th Asia Media Summit begins at Manado

A three-day 10th Asia Media Summit began at Manado of Indonesia on Wednesday.
The Summit was inaugurated by Indonesia’s Minister of Communication and Information Technology Ir Tifatul Sembiring.
President of Asian Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) Dra Rosarita Niken Widiastuti, Director of UNSECO Prof Hubert Gijzen and Director of AIBD Yang Binyuan also addressed the inaugural function.
Several parallel sessions on media and diversity, sustainable development, media literacy and dealing with ethics were held in the inaugural session, according to a message received here today.
A 7-member Bangladesh delegation is taking part in the Asia Media Summit. The delegation, among others, includes Director General of Bangladesh Betar Kazi Akhtar Uddin Ahmed, Director General of Bangladesh Television M Hamid and Managing Director of Radio Today Rafiqul Haque. (Source: UNB)
