Rajshahi, Nov 11 – Amid much enthusiasm the 10th National Mathematics Olympiad held at Rajshahi University (RU) on Sunday. Professor Mostafizur Rahman Al Arif, treasurer of the university, inaugurated the day-long program in front of the university Second Science Building.
Convener of Mathematics Olympiad, Rajshahi Region and also the chairman of Mathematics Department Professor M Zulfikar Ali, member secretary Md. Manirul Alam Sarkar, eminent mathematician Prof Subraya Mazumdar and administrator of RU public relation office Prof Dr Provash Kumar Karmakar among others were present on the occasion.
Palash Islam of Mathematics Department and Aminul Islam of Applied Mathematics Department of RU secured first position in the Olympiad while Mizanur Rahman of Mathematics Department ranked 2nd in the contest. – RU Correspondent
