Chittagong district police arrested 12 activists of Jamaat-Shibir in an overnight drive in Sitakunda and Satkania upazilas of the district last night.
Sitakunda and Satkania police conducted drives in different areas of the two upazilas and arrested them for their involvement in vandalism, arson and sabotage.Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Satkania Thana Khaled Hossain said police arrested seven Jamaat-Shibir activists from
Chhodaha and Kerani Hat areas of the upazila.”They were wanted in several cases for torching and vandalism vehicles on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar Highway”, the OC added. Moreover, Sitakund Police arrested five Jamaat-Shibir activists from different areas of the upazila for their involvement in vandalism vehicles on the Dhaka- Chittagong Highway, said Iftekhar Hasan, OC of Sitakund Thana. –BSS, Chittagong
