Dhaka – A court here on Tuesday placed 17 suspected members of banned militant outfits Hizb ut-Tahrir, Hizb ut-Tawhid and Ahle Hadith, arrested from different parts of the port city, on a two-day remand.Metropolitan Magistrate Harunur Rahid passed the order when police produced them before the court with a seven-day remand prayer.UNB agencyRecently, police arrested three members of a militant group while holding a clandestine meeting at Jharnapara in Double Mooring area of the city.Following their statement, police arrested 14 other members from different parts of the city.Police disclosed their arrest to the media on March 12.Police also filed a case against them under the Anti-terrorism Act.
