Police in a drive arrested two local activists of Jamaat-e-Islami from Hajirhat area in Kamalnagar upazila on Friday.
The arrestees were identified as M Kamal Hossain, publicity secretary of Kamalnagar upazila unit Jamaat, and Amjad Hossain, leader of Kamalnagar union unit of the party.Kamalnagar Police Station officer-in-charge M Humaiun Kabir, said a team of police, acting on a tip-off, conducted a drive in a madrasa of
the area around 7:30pm and arrested the duo.The leaders were accused in several cases filed for committing subversive activities during the recent hartals and blockades sponsored by the BNP-led 18-party combine. -UNB, Laxmipur
