Two schoolgirls were injured as a speeding bus knocked down their bicycles on Satkhira-Kaliganj road in Bohera area of Debhata upazila on Monday.Officer-in charge of Debhata Police Station Mostafizur Rahman said a Kaliganj-bound bus from Satkhira hit Sumaia Khatun and Amena Khatun, both students of class VI in Bohera High School, while they were going to school riding bicycles at the area around 9am, leaving them critically injured.Locals rescued the duo and sent them to Sadar Hospital.
Later, the injured were shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital. Enraged by the incident, locals set fire on the bus and blocked the road for a while, the OC added. -UNB, Satkhira
