Shariatpur, Jan 14 – Two suspected robbers were killed in a reported gunfight with police in Dehobhog area of Sadar Upazila early Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Russel and Jahangir. Police said on information that a gang of robbers was taking preparation for committing robbery, a team of police conducted a drive in the area.
Sensing the presence of police, the robbers opened fire on police, prompting them to fire back, triggering the gunfight, leaving the duo injured with a bullet.
The injured were taken to Sadar Upazila health complex where doctors declared them dead.
Three policemen were also injured in the district. – UNB
