Dhaka – A Dhaka court on Sunday placed two journalists of a private television channel on a four-day remand in a case filed with Kamrangirchar Police Station for inciting blockaders to explode crude bombs.Those remanded are Rtv reporter Tamzid Ahmed and cameraperson Proshanta Modok.
Metropolitan Magistrate Tareque Mainul Islam Bhuiyan passed the order when sub-inspector Rasul Samdani Azad, also investigation officer of the case, produced them seeking remand for them.
The IO sought a 10-day remand while their lawyer filed a bail petition.
After hearing, the court granted the remand rejecting the bail petition.
Earlier in the morning, police arrested the two journalists from Kamrangirchar area while they were covering ongoing blockade programme enforced by the BNP-led 18-party alliance.
Later, a case was filed against them.
According to police, the journalists instigated the opposition activists for blasting crude bombs and bringing out procession at Kuarghat in Kamrangirchar at about 8am. – UNB
