The BNP-led 20-party alliance has called 72-hour countrywide hartal from Sunday morning till Wednesday morning as there was no sign of calling fresh polls under caretaker government, killing or maiming of leaders and activist of the alliance in ‘crossfire’ across the country, mass arrest of opposition and alleged conspiracy to starve its chief Khaleda Zia to death.The shutdown will begin at 6:00am Sunday andl continue till 6:00am Wednesday, according to a press release signed by BNP Joint Secretary General Salauddin Ahmed.
The fresh shutdown has been announced two days after the five-day hartal by the anti-government alliance ended on Thursday. The alliance is scheduled to stage demonstration at all cities, districts and upazilas on Sunday over the same issues.
