25 suffer burn injuries as buses torched in Demra, Rajshahi

At least 15 people suffered burn injuries in a petrol bomb attack on a bus in the city’s Demra area on Friday night.
Witnesses said miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at a Narayanganj-bound bus of ‘ Glory Paribahan’ when it was crossing Khaterpool area in Demra around 9:30pm, leaving 15 passengers with burn injuries.Besides, two others were injured while getting down from the bus to escape fire.
The injured people were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
At least 10 people suffered burn injuries in an arson attack on a bus in Tanore upazila here on Friday evening.
Witnesses said miscreants set fire to the bus hurling a petrol bomb at it in front of Brac office around 7pm.
Officer-in-charge of Tanore Police Station Anwar Hossain said pickets first hurled brick chips at the bus and vandalised it. Later, they set it on fire, he said.
The injured were taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Meanwhile, locals caught two Shibir activists while fleeing after torching a bus in Poba upazila around 6am.
In another incident, two trucks were vandalised in front of the main gate of Rajshahi University around 8pm. – UNB
