Police seized 20 kilogram ganja along with a pick-up van and arrested three persons red-handed from the Girls’ School turning point at Kawnia upazila town in the district yesterday, police sources said.Acting on a tip off, a special police team led by Officer-in-Charge of Kawnia Thana Rezaul Karim conducted a sudden raid there and challenged a Dhaka bound pick-up van from Kurigram area.After searching the pick-up van, police seized 20 kilogram smuggled ganja, arrested three persons, including driver of the pick-up van, and seized the ganja-carrying vehicle from the spot. The arrested persons are Ahad Ali of village Alokdingi under Chirirbandar upazila in Dinajpur, Aminul Islam of village Char Kapuni under Nageswari upazila in Kurigram and driver Rana Mian of Lebur Mour area under Sadar upazila in Dinajpur. A case was filed in this connection with Kawnia Thana and the arrested persons were sent to the jail hajat after producing before a Rangpur court, the sources said. –BSS, Rangpur
