3 get burn injuries as 3 vehicles torched in city

Three people sustained burn injuries as miscreants torched three buses in different places of the city on Friday, the third day of the nationwide nonstop blockade enforced by the BNP-led 18-party alliance.A bus was set on fire at Paribagh in the morning, leaving the three people injured.   Of the victims, Farid Miah suffered 48 percent burns on his body, Shahina Akter, 35, received 64 percent burns while Babul Miah, 32, driver of the bus, got eight percent burns.
Quoting injured Babul Mia, police said a group of miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at the Gulistan-bound bus through the window near the footbridge at Paribagh around 7:00 am, inflicting burns on its two passengers and the driver.
The injured were rushed to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Fire Service sources said a Gulistan-bound bus was torched at Abdullahpur at about 6pm. A firefighting unit rushed in and doused the flame.
The incident took place just after the opposition combine announced a 48-hour nationwide shutdown from 6am on Saturday alongside its ongoing non-stop blockade programme.
Earlier at about 4:45pm, another bus was set afire near Golap Shah Mazar in Gulistan.   On information, firefighters rushed in and extinguished the blaze.   However, no report of injury was reported in the last two incidents. – UNB
