3 Heart Foundation doctors indicted for wrong treatment

A Dhaka court on Monday framed charges against four people, including three physicians of Heart Foundation Hospital and Research Institute, in a case filed for a patient’s death due to wrong treatment.Third additional metropolitan sessions judge Dr Mohammad Aktheruzzaman passed the order and fixed April 15 for starting the trial of the case.
The accused are Dr Prof Faruk Ahmed, chief cardiac surgeon of National Heart Foundation Hospital and Research Institute, surgical resident physician Dr. Mohammad Moniruzzaman, assistant Prof Dr. Harun Rashid and nurse Jolly.
Fahima Akter, daughter of the victim Habibur Rahman, filed the case with Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court on September 18, 2012.
In her case statement, the plaintiff alleged that her father Habibur Rahman died because of wrong treatment while undergoing treatment at the Institute. UNB
