Police in separate drives arrested three local leaders of
Jamaat-e-Islami from Kachua and Morleganj upazilas of the district on
Monday.
The arrestees were identified as Morleganj upazila’s Putkhali union
Jamaat secretary Mosarraf Hossain, 55, Kachua upazila’s Dhupakhali
union Jamaat ameer Aftab Uddin, 50, and its Magia union’s ward-level
ameer Ali Akaber, 51.

Kabir Chowdhury said a team of police conducted separate drives in
different areas of both the upazilas in the early hours and arrested
the leaders from their respective villages.
The Jamaat leaders were arrested in a case filed for assaulting some
