3 policemen at Dhaka’s Bangshal sued for taking bribe

Dhaka, May 20 – A case was filed on Monday against three police officers of Bangshal Police Station for allegedly taking bribe.
The three accused policemen are- Sub-Inspector (SI) Rayhan, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Hasen and ASI Amit.
A businessman named Abdus Salam lodged the case with the CMM Court of Dhaka. Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sufian Md Noman took decision in the case.
The court directed Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to submit investigation report on June 29, said lawyer Abdus Salam.
According to the case statement, on May 14, the three cops tried to take the victim to police station from his business farm. Meanwhile, the businessman wanted to show arrest warrant but the policemen failed to show that. Later, the cops allegedly demanded Tk 5 lakh as bribe showing threat of cross fire killing. – Court Correspondent
