Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 462 kilograms of Hilsa
while those were being smuggled to India through Baroachra border
point in Benapole of Jessore on Saturday.
BGB sources said acting on a tip-off, a team of the border force
conducted a drive on the border in the early hours of the day and
seized the Hilsa packed in 11 cartons.
However, the smugglers managed to escape sensing the presence of the
BGB members.
Later, BGB sold the seized Hilsa at auction. -UNB, Benapole
