Police arrested seven alleged criminals when they were about to commit
a robbery incident at Shikdar Matha Road in Raipur upazila early
Friday.
The arrestees are: Jakir Hossain, Mahsin Kabir, Kamal Uddin, Shaikat
Hossain, Anwar Hossain and Murad Hossain, hailing from Raipur upazila,
and Mizanur Rahman, from Ramgati upazila.
Police said acting on secret information, a team of police raided the
area and arrested the seven while they were taking preparation to
commit robbery at Shikdar Matha early Friday.
Police recovered several country-made weapons from their possession.
Rupak Saha Kumar, officer-in-charge (OC) of Raipur Police Station,
said the arrestees belonged to an inter-district robber gang.
They were wanted in several cases including for robbery, added the OC.
