Seven passengers were killed and at least 16 others injured in a petrol bomb attack on a bus in Chauddagram in Comilla District at dead of night about 3-30 am on Tuesday.
The incident took place at Miabazar Jagmohanpur area under Chauddagram upzila at about 3-30 am early Tuesday. The bus which set of from Cox’s Bazar was bound for Dhaka.Unidentified people made the petrol bomb attack on the passenger-packed bus which caught fire immediately killing seven passengers on the spot. The death figure might rise, sources said.
The identity of the dead and the injured could not be immediately known.
The injured were admitted to hospitals in Chouddagram and Comilla. On hearing the information fire service units from Comilla and Chouddagram rushed to the spot. But by then the bus was almost completely burnt. – Staff Reporter
