7 police officers promoted as Additional IGPs

Dhaka- Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque on Wednesday said the police are now ready to face any kind of challenge as capability of police has increased very much to ensure public safety as well as to content militancy and terrorism in the country.

The IGP came up with the remark while addressing a ceremony marking the adorning of Rank Badge of seven newly promoted Additional IGPs at Police Headquarters.

Seven Deputy Inspector General (DIGs) of police have been promoted to the Addional IGP. The Home Ministry has already issued a notification on Wednesday in this regard.

Addressing the function, the police chief said police have conducted a successful operation to arrest militant at a house of Mirpur in the capital today ( Wednesday). ” Police have the capacity to conduct any operation to combat militants alone,” he added.
The IGP asked the newly promoted seven Add IGPs to work with team spirit .

Saying that Police is a team work, the IGP said the law and order will be improved further as well as the country will be also advanced ahead more if all are work together unitedly.

Promoted officer s are–Vice-principal of Bangladesh Police Academy Amulya Bhushan Barua, Director of central police hospital Dr Mohammad Sadikur Rahman, DIG Mohammad Nazibur Rahman, Add IG (Current Charge) of police headquarters Md Moinur Rahman Chowdhhury, Add IGP (Current Charge) of Armed Police Battalion Siddiqur Rahman, Add IGP (Current Charge) of PHQs Md Abul Kashem and DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia.

IGP, chief of CID Sheikh Hemayet Hossain, Add IGP (Admin) Md Mokhlesur Rahman and Rab DG Benazir Ahmed adorned the seven newly promoted police officers with the rank badges of ‘Additional IGP’.
