Seven shops were gutted as a fire broke out at Chhati Patti in Sadar upazila on Saturday morning.Locals said the fire erupted around 9 in the morning.They suspected that an electric short circuit might have been the cause of the fire.On information, two firefighting units from Brahmanbaria sadar and Ashuganj rushed to the spot and managed to tame the blaze after one and a half hours of frantic efforts.Affected shop owners said seven shops of footwear and medicine were damaged by the fire.The extent of losses caused by the fire was estimated at around Tk4 crore. -UNB, Brahmanbaria
