Police arrested eight more ‘Jamaat-Shibir activists’ from different places in Debhata upazila on Friday night in connection with the killing of local Awami League leader Abu Raihan.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a drive in the upazila and arrested them at night.
With the eight, a total of 25 people have so far been arrested in connection with the murder.
Jahangir Hossain, Satkhira police superintendent, confirmed the arrest.

Youth killed by miscreants in Ctg
A young man was killed in an attack by unknown miscreants at Damkhali village in Mirsharai upazila on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Jasim Uddin, son of Nurul Afsar, a resident of the village.
Police said a group of unknown miscreants swooped on Jasim and beat him with sticks and sharp weapons on a bridge in Samitir Hat area around 9:30pm while he was returning home, leaving him critically injured.
Hearing Jasim’s screams, local people rescued him and took him to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at about 12.00am.
Imtiaz Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge of Mirsharai Police Station, confirmed the killing.
