Jamaat-e-Islami called a nine-hour hartal in the district for Sunday protesting the arrest of its Upazila Ameer Shafiqul Haque Jihadi and other leaders.Cox’s Bazar District Jamaat Secretary G M Rahimullah told banglanews, “The party will observe the shutdown from 05:00am to 02:00pm demanding immediate release of the leaders.”
He said their leaders are being arrested without any case. In line with the nationwide arrest of leaders, police held Cox’s Bazar Sadar Jamaat Ameer and its Municipal unit leader Ayat Ullah on Friday. (Source: banglanews24.com)
