Dhaka – Detectives detained an alleged drug peddler with 1000 pieces of Yaba tablets from Ronhatta Chowrongi village under Haripur Upazila in Thakurgaon on Wednesday.Farhat Ahmed, Superintendent of the district police made the announcement at a press briefing on Thursday.UNB agencyThe detainee is Hossain Ali alias Choton, 40, son of Aman Ullah, of Ronhatta Chowrongi village.M.Rafiq, assistant sub-inspector of Detective Branch (DB) of Police, said “Acting on a tip-off, a team of DB police conducted the drive in the area and seized 1000 pieces of Yaba tablets from Choton’s possession.”A case was filed against the detainee under the Narcotics Control Act, said police.
