Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday joined a Milad Mahfil held at IVY Tower at Gulshan-2 on the occasion of the 9th death anniversary of former Mohila Awami League leader Ivy Rahman. Post and Telecommunications Minister Advocate Shahara Khatun, State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Faruk Khan and Awami League Leader Tofail Ahmed, among others, attended the milad mahfil held after Asr prayers. A special munajat was offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of late Ivy Rahman and other martyrs of the August 21 grenade attacks as well as the martyrs of the August 15 carnage and the Liberation War, and for the continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation. Ivy Rahman, wife of late President Zillur Rahman, died on August 24, 2004 while undergoing treatment at the CMH after being critically injured by the August 21 barbaric grenade attack on an Awami League rally at Bangabandhu Avenue. -UNB
