Members of the Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested two people, including a union
parishad member, along with 52 pieces of Yaba tablet at Amratoli village in Sadar
upazila on Friday night.
The arrested were identified as Mohammad Khorshed Alam Kalu, 40, a local UP member
and Liton Mia, 28, of the village.
AKM Mohsin, officer-in-charge of DB police, said acting on secret information a team of
DB police led by Sub-inspector Jahirul Haque conducted a raid at the house of Liton Mia
and arrested Khorshed and Liton along with 52 pieces of Yaba tablet at about 11:30 pm.
Khorshed was wanted in several cases filed with Kotwali Police Station, said police. –
