Militancy to be reined in: MKA

Home Minister Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir on Saturday said the present government is strongly committed to reining in militancy with an iron hand. “Hefjat and similar organisations are doing business under cover of religion and making people confused. Bangladesh will be built in line with the ideals of the Liberation War by resisting them,” he said.
Alamgir sought cooperation from people in this regard.   The minister was talking to reporters at Kachua upazila auditorium after distributing cash and corrugated iron sheets among freedom fighters.   He said the government will recruit manpower to police and BGB. “Children of freedom fighters will get priority in the recruitments.”
Alamgir distributed Tk 8.5 lakh and 90 bundles of CI sheets among the freedom fighters.   Kachua Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) M Ziauddin Sumon and upazila chairman Ayub Ali Patwari were, among others, present. -UNB
