Police in separate drives recovered 1,780 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup and arrested
an alleged drug peddler along with 30 pieces of Yaba tablet from the district town on
Sunday.
Police said a team of the Detective Branch (DB) of police, led by Sub-inspector Abul
Khayer, launched a drive in Keshobpur bus stand area of the town at noon and searching
a bus, recovered 1,780 bottles of Phensidyl from under its seats.
No one was arrested in this connection.
On the other hand, a team of police, led by Rafiqul Islam, in-charge of Jessore Sadar
police camp, conducted a drive in Narail bus stand in the town at about 1.00am and
arrested Jewel Mia while selling Yaba tablets.
Later, police recovered 30 pieces of Yaba tablet from his possession.
Sensing the presence of police, other drug peddlers managed to flee the scene, added
