Awami League has alleged that Opposition Leader Khaleda Zia is
plotting to foil the election in a bid to bring a “third force” to
power.
“Khaleda Zia does not want the national election to be held properly.
Election is not even her demand,” Awami League Joint General Secretary
Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said on Monday.
He urged the BNP Chairperson to stop the attempt to foil the election
and to bring the third force to power.
“The people don’t want to see the third force in power anymore,” Hanif said.
At an anti-strike rally organised by Jatiya Sramik League, the labour
front of Awami League, Hanif urged the Opposition party to sit for a
dialogue to put an end to the ongoing crisis over the form of the
poll-time government.
He said shutdown would not be able to resolve any crisis. “Solve all
crises through talks.”
The Awami League leader also urged the BNP to join the upcoming elections.
“The election will be held in due time in accordance with the
Constitution. We are already in the field, you also start preparing
for elections,” he said. – bdnews24.com
