Police in a drive seized smuggled Indian clothes worth Tk one crore from Chuknagar Bazar area in Dumuria upazila of the district on Tuesday.
Shah M Awlad Hossain, officer-in-charge of Dumuria Police Station, said a team of police, on a tip-off, intercepted a Dhaka-bound truck from Satkhira in the area in the early hours and seized various types of clothes smuggled from Indian.Police detained the vehicle’s driver and one more person named Lutfar Rahman.An apparel trader of Dhaka was taking the consignment of clothes with fake documents, the OC added.A case was filed in this connection. –UNB, Khulna
