Bangladeshi lynched on other side of Comilla border

A Bangladeshi young man was beaten to death by Indian civilians along Katakbazar border in Sadar upazila early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Ershad Hossain, 30, son of Ayat Ali of Aranyapur village in the upazila.
This is the second incident of beating to death of Bangladeshis in the Tripura State of India. Earlier three Bangladeshis lynched were branded as cattle-lifters.Locals said Ershad and his three accompanies entered the Indian territory through Katakbazar border around 3:30am.
Villagers chased them at Durgapur village in Sonapur Police Station of Sipahijala district in Tripura suspecting them to be thieves.
At one stage, they caught Ershad and beat him indiscriminately, leaving him injured.
On information, a team of Sonapur Police Station rescued Ershad and took him to a nearby hospital where he died around 9am.
Meanwhile, Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) handed over the body to police through Bibir Bazar border around 8:55pm, commanding officer Lt Col Zakir Hossain of Border Guard Bangladesh Battalion-10, said. – UNB and GW News Desk
