Two ‘bandits’ have died in an alleged encounter with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at the Sundarbans.
Enamul Hawlader alias Daroga, 34, said to be the head of bandit group ‘Daroga Bahini’ and his associate ‘Saiful’, 24, were killed, RAB said on Tuesday.RAB-8 Deputy Commander Maj Adnan Kabir said 13 foreign and locally made firearms along with five sharp weapons have been reco vered from the site.
The gunbattle, he said, took place near Arubaria canal of Andharmanik at Chapai Range on the east side the Sundarbans.
