ACC interrogates BNP leader Anny

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday quizzed BNP leader Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anny over his alleged involvement in acquiring wealth illegally, said an ACC official.
The commission deputy director Monzur Morshed interrogated Anee at the ACC head office for one hour from 10:00am a day before the schedule time, he said.He said that Anie was scheduled to be quizzed on Thursday but the commission questioned him on Wednesday upon his request.
On February 2, the anti-graft body launched investigation into the graft allegation against Anie.
Earlier in January, the ACC also launched probes into the allegations of unusual wealth accumulation by seven politicians.
The ACC inquiry officers are conducting probes into the graft allegations against former health minister AFM Ruhal Haque, former state minister for housing and public works Abdul Mannan Khan, former state minister for water resources M Mahbubur Rahman, Enamul Haque, MP (Rajshahi-4), Abdur Rahman Badi, MP, (Ukhia-Teknaf), Aslamul Haque, MP, (Dhaka-14) and Abdul Jabbar, former MP, (Satkhira-2). – Staff Reporter
