Activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League went on the rampage and vandalised the local Education Engineering Department office after failing to win the tender for work worth Tk 1.75 crore in lottery.
Executive engineer of Pabna EED ATM Faruk Al Maruf said when the lottery, led by executive magistrate Ganopati Roy, started, the local BCL men obstructed the process and tried to manipulate it in their favour.When the magistrate ignored them, the unruly BCL men tore the tender documents and vandalised the EED office, creating panic in the area.
Contractors present at the lottery alleged that police played the role of mere spectators during the mayhem. – UNB
