A ward level Awami League leader and his twin brother were critically
injured in a terrorist attack by miscreants near Kalupur bridge under
Durlavpur union in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district
Tuesday night.
The injured persons are lecturer of Shibganj Women College and also
the general secretary of a ward of Durlavpur union AL Abdur Rajib
Raju, 35 and his brother Engineer Abdur Rakib Raku, 35, sons of Abdur
Rashid of Kalupur village under Durlavpur union of Shibganj upazila.
Police and locals said, the two brothers were returning home by a
motor cycle from Shibganj. When they reached Kalupur bridge, a gang of
10/15 miscreants wearing mask exploded hand bombs and later attacked
them with sharp weapons leaving them critically injured at around 8-30
pm. They were rushed to the local health complex but doctors on duty
referred them to the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
