All airports will be upgraded

Dhaka – The Cabinet on Monday gave the final approval to the draft of ‘The Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority Bill, 2016′, aiming to upgrade the country’s all airports to international standard ones.

The approval came from the regular weekly cabinet meeting held at Bangladesh Secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam briefed reporters.

He said the cabinet also endorsed in principle the draft of ‘The Accreditation Council Bill, 2016’.

Alam said a proposal for formation of ‘The Container Company of Bangladesh Ltd’ was approved by the cabinet to run Bangladesh Railway Container Transportation Services through an independent company.

Besides, the meeting was apprised of the participation of a Bangladesh delegation, led by the LGRD and Cooperatives Minister at a high-level ministerial meeting of the Sanitation and Water for All held in Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa on March 15-16 last.

Ministers and state ministers and secretaries concerned attended the meeting.
