Alleged blockade activist shot, handed over to police

An alleged blockade activist was injured as police shot him while fleeing after hurling a crude bomb at a bus in the city’s Shahbagh area on Monday evening.
The victim was identified as Nur Mohammad, 35, son of Fakhar Islam. Further details about him could not be known yet.
Hospital sources said sub-inspector Azim of Shahbagh Police Station took Nur to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 9:15 pm with bullet wounds in his left leg.Contacted, the SI said locals caught Nur while fleeing after throwing the crude bomb at the bus at Shahbagh intersection. Later, they handed him over to police after subjecting him to mass beating.
The police officer, however, denied shooting the man. He also could not say how Nur Mohammad received bullet injuries. – UNB
