Dhaka, July 4 – A Dhaka court on Wednesday sent a couple to the jail on the charge selling the drug. Earlier, on Tuesday they were arrested from Rajabari area under Turug Thana of the capital Dhaka. Magistrate Majharul Haque of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order to send them to the jail on Wednesday.
The couple is Md Alam arear Ganja Alam, 52 and Alam’s wife Momtaj Begum, 35. The Investigation Officer of the case produced them to the court and sought their detention in the jail till the investigation does not come to an end.
Meanwhile, advocate Nahid Islam Chowdhury filed a petition seeking their bail while the court fixed July 9 to hear the petition. – Special Correspondent
