Dhaka – Alliance Française, Dhaka will organise a musical program titled “ Geet and Ghazal Evening” to be performed by Ivy Benarjee and Manzurul Islam Khan on Saturday, 3 December 2016 at 6 pm in it’s courtyard.Mr Abul Kalam Azad, Managing Director, Bangladesh Songbad Sangstha will grace the occasion as chief guest. Mr A. M. M. Farhad, Additional Mamagging Director, Social Islamic Bank Ltd. and Mr Firoz Alam, Director, Novo Air will be present as special guests in the program.
Ivy Banerjee is a promising classical vocalist from Kolkata. She began her music lessons at the tender age of 3 under the tutelage of her mother Mrs. Tapati Banerjee. After that, she received music lessons from Mr. Amal Mukherjee and from Mrs. Bharati Kar Choudhury. Throughout the last ten years, she has been getting her music lessons from Prof. Nihar Ranjan Banerjee. She has also received training from Late Bidushi Sipra Bose.
Manzurul Islam Khan started his singing journey from Chhayanat and also completed advanced course in classical music, Master in Music from Bombay University, India. He received further talim from Ustad Azad Rahman, ustad Sanjib Dey, Aminul Haque, ustad Amjad Rahman in Bangladesh and ustad Usman Khan, ustad Sanjoy Chawkbarty in India. – Press release
