Annisul orders shifting of GAMCA office from Gulshan

Dhaka: Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq on Sunday asked the GCC Approved Medical Centres’ Association (GAMCA) to shift its office from Gulshan-2 in the city by 15 days.
He gave the ultimatum during a sudden visit to the GAMCA office at Road-94 in the morning. UNB News Agency Reported.
GAMCA is the apex body of medical centres approved by the Gulf countries for conducing medical checkups of Bangladeshi nationals intending to go abroad with job. It has been running its activities in the present office for the last 12 years.
A large number of people, who want to go to the Gulf countries, have to stand in a long queue every day to enter the GAMCA office for taking medical slips, hampering the smooth movement of local residents.
During the DNCC mayor’s visit to the GAMCA office, people who stood in the queue lodged various allegations to him.
Later, he inquired about the allegations and asked the GAMCA authorities to shift their office by 15 days.
Earlier, Annisul Huq visited Banani Road-50 via Road-11 and Road-18. During the visit, he asked for removing existing security posts and blocks from the footpath as well as to shift the electric poles to suitable places.
Senior officials of the DNCC were present during the visit.
