One Daud Ali alias Tiger Daud (45), was killed in a reported ‘gunfight’ with police in Magura in the early hours of Wednesday, according to a report reaching Dhaka. Son of Babar Ali, Daud Ali hailed from Gaiducharanpur village under Bogra Sadar police station.Police said the ‘gunfight’ took place at 1am on Tuesday night at Chhota Khalimpur village under Hajipur union of the same Thana. Police sourced told journalists that Daud Ali was arrested from the Baraichara village under Hajipara union at about 11 am. Later police along with him went to recover arms on the basis of his statement to Chhota Khalimpur village. When they reached there ‘Daud Ali’s accomplices’ snathed him and opened fire at police. Police returned the fire.
Police said Daud was hit by bullet as he tried to flee away. He was declared dead when he was taken to the Magura Sadar Hospital, they said.
Police said they recovered one gun, one rifle, one airgun and 21 bullets from the spot. Four policemen who were injured in the incident were given medical treatment, they added. Police said the dead was an extortionist and terrorist. He faced six murder cases and two arms cases. – News Desk
