Any anarchy over polls to invite trouble: Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan once again warned on Saturday that strict actions will be taken if any attempt is made to create anarchy after the announcement of election schedule.

He came up the warning while talking to reporters after a visit to Dhaka Old Central jail, marking the Jail Killing Day.“The law-enforcement agencies will remain under the Election Commission. If anyone tries to create any violence, they will handle it strictly,” said the minister.

During his visit, he placed wreaths at the memorial of the four leaders in the jail.Former Home Minister Shahara Khatun, Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury and Syed Nazrul Islam’s son Major General (retired) Syed Shafaul Islam were also present.

On this day in 1975, the killers of Bangabandhu stormed into the Dhaka Central Jail in the early hours and killed the four national leaders, who led the Liberation War in absence of Bangabandhu in 1971 and snatched the victory for the nation.
