Badruddoza Chy urges youths to ‘save country’

President of Bikolpo Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury on Wednesday urged the young generation to come forward to save the country from the ‘clutch of an extreme autocratic and wayward regime’.

“The country is under the grasp of extreme autocracy and despotism. The young generation needs to come forward to protect the country from authoritarianism,” he said.

B Chowdhury, also a former President, came up with the call while speaking at a political workshop arranged by BDB’s associate body ‘Projonmo Bangladesh’ at Gulshan’s All Community Club.

He said it is possible for the youth to build a Bangladesh of peace and happiness through a non-violent movement. “I’m very hopeful of young people.”

B Chowdhury, also the chairman of Jukta Front, an alliance of some political parties, criticised the government for what he said repressing and arresting the students who waged movements seeking safe roads and quota reform.

“This completely wayward and autocratic regime can no longer be tolerated. No one will be able to resist the fall of the authoritarian regime if the youth come forward,” he observed.

Mentioning that his party believes in a non-violent movement, the BDB chief said young people have launched a new war to remove corruption and injustice from the country. “There’ll be no bloodshed in this war as youths don’t want any bloodletting”.
