Dhaka – The fire that broke out in a multi-storey building on road no 17 in the city’s Banani area on Monday afternoon was doused within an hour.
The fire broke out at the basement of the 18-storey building named ‘Basati Horizontal Tower’ adjacent to the building of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) around 2:40 pm and spread soon, said sources at the Fire Service Control Room.
On information, 16 firefighting units went to the spot and doused the blaze around 3:45 pm.
Four people fell sick after inhaling smoke during the fire. -UNB
