Bangladesh Animal Production society int’l confce at BAU

Dhaka – Bangladesh Society for Animal Production Education and Research (BSAPER) international conference was held at Syed Nazrul Islam Bhavan of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in Mymensingh on Saturday. The conference is titled by “Livestock and Poultry for Poverty Alleviation, Food and Nutritional Scarcity in BD” Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Jasimuddin Khan attended the conference as a chief guest while president Of Bangladesh Animal Husbandry Association (BAHA) Prof Dr Syed Sakhawat Husain, dean of Animal Husbandry faculty Prof Dr Md Ashraf Ali, Chief Technical Adviser of FAO Mr Eric Brum, chief in Land O’ Lakes of USDA Mr Geoff J walker as a special guest.
President of BSAPER Prof Dr (Retd) Md Nozmul Hassan presided over the inaugural session.
Prof Dr Md Nurul Islam of dairy science department in his keynote paper said that, ten years before our deficiency in milk production was 80% but now deficiency level in milk, meat and egg is decreased at 51%, 13% and 29% respectively.
He also recommended to modernize and implementation of Livestock Development policy Of Bangladesh, more specialized degree to meet up new challenges in this sector.
Po Vice-Chancellor said that, we have to work together to increase animal protein production and ensure nutritional and health safety of human.
