Dhaka, Aug 6– A case was filed with a local court in Barisal on Sunday against a physician on the charge of trying to rape a female patient.The victim, hailing from Dakkhin Bijoypur village in Gournadi Upazila, filed the case with the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal against Dr M Safiqul Islam, an orthopaedic consultant at Barisal Sadar Hospital.
Judge Sheikh Abu Taher of the tribunal ordered judicial inquiry into the allegation, said bench assistant Azibar Rahman.
According to the case statement, the physician tried to rape the housewife in the name of examining a tumour when she went to his private chamber on July 31. – UNB
